Victorian Nebula

by  Stephen W. Ackerman

Sketches by Stephen W. Ackerman

Yeah, I once saw a Victorian Nebula…So what!

It’s only been the billionth time.

I laugh at the looks made by the people who come from important places,

places fixed on the future without any remembrance of the past.

How sad it must be to live on invisible foundations.

Give me salvation!

Give me salvation!

No, No, No…You’ve got it all wrong.

Sit down,

Shut up,

and have a beer.

You will learn what it is like to live in a space,

that simultaneously walks with the warriors of the wind

and the hunger of those who have almost arrived.

The space between is thin here.
